Pakistan Expected to Experience Another Round of Heavy Rain

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a warning for heavy rains from March 5 to March 7, cautioning of potential flash floods, snow blocking roads, and landslides across various country regions.

The areas most likely to be impacted include Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Upper and Southern Punjab, and Baluchistan. Conversely, many parts of Pakistan are anticipated to experience cold and dry weather conditions.

In contrast, Sindh is expected to encounter a severe cold wave, with temperatures projected to drop significantly compared to typical March temperatures. For instance, in Karachi, where the average March temperature is approximately 19.4°C, temperatures have plummeted to 11.1°C, marking an 8.3°C deviation from the norm.

Regrettably, heavy rainfall in Pakistan has already resulted in over 30 fatalities and the closure of numerous educational institutions. The persistent downpour since Thursday has caused substantial disruptions across various parts of the nation.
