Tragic Robbery Resistance Claims Life of Young Man in Karachi.

Another tragic incident of violence unfolded in Karachi as a young man lost his life while resisting a robbery near Saad Bin Muaz Mosque in Korangi’s Allah Wala Town on Monday evening.

Twenty-two-year-old Muhammad Laraib, the eldest of four siblings and a resident of KDA Employees Housing Society, was reportedly followed by robbers after leaving his house. The police have initiated an investigation into the incident.

The victim’s body was taken to Jinnah Hospital, where the deceased’s brother Shahzeb refused a postmortem examination. The family is expected to file a case after the burial of the deceased.

Laraib’s father, Muhammad Hussain, informed the media that his son was on his way to the gym when the tragic incident occurred. He mentioned that Laraib might have resisted the robbery due to the data stored on his phone for a book he was writing on basic accounting. Additionally, Hussain shared that Laraib was engaged, and preparations for his wedding next year were underway.

This incident adds to the growing concern over the safety and security of citizens in Karachi, with the number of fatalities during robbery attempts reaching 34 in the first three months of this year alone.

In a similar incident in January, a newly married man was fatally shot in front of his wife by muggers at Seaview within the jurisdiction of Sahil police station. The victim, identified as 25-year-old Muhammad Adnan, was a resident of Naval Colony in Baldia Town. Adnan, who originally hailed from Kalat, Balochistan, frequently traveled between Balochistan and Karachi for business. He had been married for three months.

According to the police investigation, Adnan and his wife were targeted by robbers while taking a walk along the beach wall after dining at a restaurant near Dau Darya, Seaview. Despite Adnan’s resistance, the robbers shot him twice before fleeing with the couple’s mobile phones, cash, and other belongings.
